FAQ

Is Pilates just for girls?
No — the method was created by a man! Even world-class athletes use Pilates to gain an edge.

What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that moves with you. Many exercises require legs to be open or in the air, so keep that in mind when choosing pants. Socks are optional, however slip-resistant socks (socks with rubber grip on the bottom) are ideal. No shoes necessary!

When will I see results?
Pilates is a great way to get in touch with your body. You may even feel more aware (and confident) after just one session! Realistically however, you’re not going to see drastic changes to the body instantly.

According to Joseph Pilates, “In 10 sessions you will feel a difference, in 20, you will see a difference, and in 30 you will have a whole new body.”

We say, Pilates will help you lengthen, strengthen and tone in a uniform manner. If you set goals and commit to at least one session a week, you might feel different almost immediately, but it may take some time to notice a difference. Stick with it!

How often should I do Pilates?
According to Joseph Pilates, if you practice four times a week for three months, you will find your body reaching its ideal.

We say, you’re ahead of the curve if you can make it in once or twice a week. We can also work with you to come up with great exercises to do at home so you can keep moving throughout the week.

What if I’ve never exercised before/have an injury?
Private Pilates sessions are a great way to get moving if you haven’t been active in a while, or have an injury that makes some movement painful. We can tailor programs to fit your needs and get you exercising safely and pain free. Pilates on the apparatus is resistance based, meaning we can make exercises more difficult or gentle depending upon a client’s needs each day.

What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that you give 24 hours notice. Unfortunately, classes cancelled within this timeframe are non-refundable.
